SUMMARY:School Supply Drive 2022
DESCRIPTION:Throughout the month of July\, we will have donation bins in the lobby for our annual School Supply Drive. We are doing it earlier in the summer\, as we are not only assisting the Beaverton School District\, but the district and Sunset Church are partnering alongside the nonprofit Wake Up Beaverton this year. \nWe are being asked to collect the six most needed school supply items: \n\nSpiral notebooks (college ruled)\nComposition books (college ruled)\nBlack/blue ink pens\nGlue sticks (purple preferred)\nColored markers (fine point & thin)\n#2 Ticonderoga pencils\n\n\nAfter we collect supplies\, Wake Up Beaverton then serves in the role of a clearinghouse on behalf of the school district. They handle the logistics of gathering\, sorting\, and storing items at select area schools. Once supplies are stored\, the school district steps in and oversees the distribution of supplies to students and teachers. \nIf you are interested in volunteering to help sort supplies with Wake Up Beaverton in August at one of the schools in the area\, please contact Sheri Schlief or Maddie Brown. \nTHANKS in advance for your participation in this year’s drive. DESCRIPTION:Hey\, Sunset Youth! We hope you’ll join us for this fun summer BBQ potluck together. All students entering 6th-12th grade this fall are invited! The event will include some water games (and a raffle for some Spyra water guns\, too!) as well as an opportunity to support our Helping Hands ministry.*  \nBurgers and hot dogs will be provided\, but please bring chips\, dessert\, or another food item to share. \nWe also encourage students to wear shoes and clothes that can get a little (or a lot!) wet.  \n*We are asking all youth to bring the following to the event: Bar soap\, toothbrushes\, and toothpaste. SUMMARY:School Supply Drive 2022
DESCRIPTION:Throughout the month of July\, we will have donation bins in the lobby for our annual School Supply Drive. We are doing it earlier in the summer\, as we are not only assisting the Beaverton School District\, but the district and Sunset Church are partnering alongside the nonprofit Wake Up Beaverton this year. \nWe are being asked to collect the six most needed school supply items: \n\nSpiral notebooks (college ruled)\nComposition books (college ruled)\nBlack/blue ink pens\nGlue sticks (purple preferred)\nColored markers (fine point & thin)\n#2 Ticonderoga pencils\n\n\nAfter we collect supplies\, Wake Up Beaverton then serves in the role of a clearinghouse on behalf of the school district. They handle the logistics of gathering\, sorting\, and storing items at select area schools. Once supplies are stored\, the school district steps in and oversees the distribution of supplies to students and teachers. \nIf you are interested in volunteering to help sort supplies with Wake Up Beaverton in August at one of the schools in the area\, please contact Sheri Schlief or Maddie Brown. \nTHANKS in advance for your participation in this year’s drive.
