Meet Daphne!

On Sunday, March 13, we introduced Daphne Parker as our new Director of Children & Families at Sunset Church! We are excited for her return, as many of you may remember her being on staff within Sunset’s Children’s Ministry 10 years ago. If you are new to Sunset, or may not have gotten to know her previously, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to meet her!

Daphne was born and raised in Portland, and later she also spent a few years in California and Nevada before returning to Oregon to raise her family. Her grown daughters both live in Seattle, and she will soon gain a great son-in-law this summer. She has spent most of her adult life pouring into children and children’s ministry. She likes others to know that “God is my North Star, with my heart of joy linked to children and families.” Raised in the church, her parents set the example of following Jesus Christ in prayerful devotion, so she understands the value of supporting families and the legacy of faith.

Spending time in nature; hiking, snowshoeing, taking time to witness sunsets, and the beauty in God’s creation is how she recharges her spirit. Daphne brings an abundance of fun-filled creativity and we look forward to her infusing her infectious joyful spirit as she leads in this role within our Children’s Ministry. She looks forward to meeting each of you as together we build up the family, literally and spiritually, around Jesus and this Sunset Church community.
