About Sonshine Treasures
Sonshine Treasures is a Christ-centered Sunday School class uniquely designed for individuals (“Treasures”), ages 14 and older, who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD). Our mission is to help families and caregivers support their loved ones with I/DD in their spiritual walk with Jesus Christ and facilitate their inclusion in the Body of Christ.
Join Us
Sonshine Treasures meets every Sunday from 11 am to noon at Sunset Church.
New members are always welcome! We sing worship songs, have a snack, hear Bible stories, share prayer requests, and pray for one another. Once a month, we also celebrate Communion. We now provide a hybrid model, with an in-person option at Sunset Church and a Zoom option.
Volunteer
Our ministry depends on volunteers! They assist in a variety of ways to help our Treasures feel welcomed, loved, and included in the body of Christ. Experience with people with special needs is not required and training is provided by our teachers.
