Eric & Judith Hedeen
Papua New Guinea

Eric & Judith mentor leaders to plant churches and translate the Bible in Papua New Guinea. Originally Eric lived in a remote village in the Malaumanda tribe. As part of a team, he created a written language, translated the New Testament, and brought the Gospel to this area. Upon marriage, Eric & Judith continued the work to plant a church with this people group and now continue to mentor the Malaumanda church leaders itinerantly. They rejoice over the completion of the New Testament and the growing church. In this location and others, the Hedeens provide technical help and encouragement to local church planters who are reaching neighboring tribes. They also train and guide new teams who ar reaching out with the gospel to unreached people groups.

A Good News Story

Yanome from Malaumanda meets Jesus: she had no peace, suffered the loss of her two kids in tragic ways, and had a terrible marriage. I (Eric) still have images of her running after people in the village while yelling at them with a machete in hand. She didn’t have the Prince of Peace and it’s as though emotionally her brain had “snapped.” Life is still tough, yet our Savior has brought healing. I (Eric) am amazed at her peace and joy as she tells how Jesus changed her life. Pray for unreached people across PNG to meet Jesus the Savior.
