Sunset Elders Search
The Elder Search Committee is in the process of accepting elder candidates for the 2025-2027 term. If you or someone you know could be a considerable candidate, our team would love to hear from you. We are accepting nominations and applications until June 30, 2024!
WWII Japanese Americans Internment Camp Incarceration Presentation
Sunday, May 19, 11:30 am-12:30 pm, Fireside Room
May is American Asian and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) Heritage Month, and you’re invited to a special presentation by Yukiko Flennaugh of Sunset’s Racial Justice Ministry. She’ll be sharing her father’s (John Nakada) and his family’s story of his childhood years spent incarcerated behind barbed wire in these camps.
Young Families Gathering
Sunday, May 19, 5:45 pm, Salinas’ House
We’re a group of young families that gather monthly to eat a meal! It’s a casual space for parents, married couples, singles, and kids to hang out and meet someone new. And even though we focus more on young families, any young adult is welcome! Text us to let us know you’re coming at (833)379-5416.
Celebrating the Class of 2024
Sunday, June 2, During Worship Service
It’s almost time for us to recognize and celebrate our 2024 high school seniors! All are invited on Sunday, June 2, during our worship service as we honor some of the students who are graduating this year. If you know of a high school senior, we’d love to recognize them that Sunday! Please email Laura VanderGiessen for more information.
Kids Camp 2024
Camp Drop-off Days: Tuesday, June 25 – Friday, June 28
Grand Finale & Family Day: Sunday, June 30
Kids Camp this year is all about Noah’s Ark — Get on board with the Lord! And then on the Sunday following camp (June 30) the whole family is invited to the service at 10 am to see the finale of Noah’s story, and enjoy an ice cream social afterward. It will also take 130+ volunteers to make Kids Camp a success so let us know you plan on joining us for all the fun and equipping the next generation in Christ.
Kids Camp Wishlist
We’re thrilled to see so many campers signed up already! We’ve created an online wishlist to assist in creating an amazing week of camp. This is a tangible way that you can serve the children that will come through our doors. Thank you so much! If you have questions, please email Melissa Pearson.
