Community & Spiritual Development

Dr. Moses & Christine Otim with the CLIDE Team

CLIDE Consultancy
Uganda

CLIDE Consultancy points people to Christ by serving local communities in NE Uganda. Dr. Moses Otim directs the team of veterinary doctors (including CLIDE’s founding director, Dr. Val Lomilo), teachers, community development facilitators, and spiritual coordinators. Their holistic approach (addressing physical, spiritual, psychological, education, social, and economic needs) helps the poor and vulnerable to grow toward sustainable livelihoods. Among the numerous impactful CLIDE ministries, Christine Otim oversees the Timothy Project. This scholarship program enables students to gain an education who would otherwise have no opportunity — thereby impacting a life trajectory, and often their family and village.

A Good News Story

For generations, thousands were killed as Pian and Bokora tribes raided and stole cattle in Karamoja. Amidst lawlessness, Dr. Val Lomilo lived and earned each tribe’s trust by treating their animals. In 2007, she seized the opportunity to talk about peace using biblical principles. Expecting 400 at a pivotal peace meeting, 2,500 showed up. Relatives found each other and began to hug, dance, and sing! They immediately started new villages together, and today over 25,000 Karamojong live in 60 Peace Villages. Pray any challenges to peace are overcome and that many more come to know the lasting peace of Jesus.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.”  John 14:27
